Privacy
Strength + Miles lets people train without an account. Signing in securely connects training progress across devices and is required for social features. The current optional account system uses ChatGPT sign-in. People without a ChatGPT account can continue using the core training tools as guests.
Workout history
When you save a workout, Strength + Miles stores the exercise, weight, repetitions, sets, effort rating, estimated one-repetition maximum, and time. Signed-out history uses a random browser key. Signed-in history is linked to the account identifier provided by the platform and can follow the user across devices.
Plans, shortlists, and drafts
Generated strength programs, running plans, saved shoe shortlists, and unfinished workout drafts are stored so they can be restored. Signed-out items are connected to the random browser key. When that browser signs in, newer browser items are moved to the account. A local browser copy may also be kept as a recovery cache.
Optional research data
Program configurations are shared only when you select the optional “Help improve Strength + Miles” checkbox. The shared record includes training goal, experience level, schedule, equipment, and generated plan. Running profiles are not stored unless the interface expressly asks for research consent.
Feedback
If you submit a shoe follow-up, Strength + Miles stores the shoe, rating, written outcome, and submission time. Do not include your name, contact details, medical records, or other identifying information in free-text feedback.
Running progress
Completed runs are stored in the platform database under the same anonymous browser key. A local copy of recent run and workout history is also kept on the device for faster recovery. Clearing browser storage or changing browsers removes the key that connects that browser to its records.
Accounts and social profiles
When you sign in, the platform provides a stable user identifier, email address, and sometimes a display name. The identifier connects your progress and social activity across signed-in devices. Your email address is never displayed in the community feed. Profiles are private by default, and you may use a nickname.
Training Receipts and photos
Submitted receipts store their title, training summary, optional note, structured metrics, reactions, moderation status, and time. Optional photos are resized and re-encoded in your browser to remove embedded metadata before upload, limited by file type and size, and kept out of the public feed until owner approval. Do not upload faces without permission, identifying documents, addresses, school schedules, or live location information.
Reports and moderation
Reports are stored with the reporting account identifier so abuse can be investigated. The private Founder Lab can approve or reject posts, review reports, and remove uploaded images. Rejected images are deleted from file storage.
Access and retention
Public visitors cannot read another visitor’s private workout history. They can see approved public Training Receipts. The private Founder Lab can review stored platform records to operate, moderate, and improve the service. Signed-in users can download an export and permanently delete account-linked training and social data from the private Account page. Anonymous research records submitted with consent are not linked to the account and cannot be included in an account export or identified for account deletion. Other data may be deleted when no longer useful or when required for safety.
Children
Strength + Miles is not intended for children under 13. Minors should use training guidance with appropriate adult, coach, or healthcare supervision.
